Yesterday was tomorrow…or, Tomorrow was yesterday… May 21, 2011

I have this “internet friend” named Joy who I know through mutual friends. We have known each other for several months now,and tried to meet a few times but those did not work out. But yesterday, I finally met her, of course, she met me too… Anyway, here it is in chronological order–from my point of view, because unlike my dream me, I cannot probe people’s minds ;)

The first half of the day I was in an agony of suspense, it appeared in all likelihood that our critical visit was going to be suspended. But at twelve we learned it wasn’t going to be canceled, and I almost ran upstairs to cry out my relief. After we finished cleaning, our guests finally arrived. I was trying to hide behind Hannah when Joy appeared around the corner. We hadn’t even had a chance to see each others face before–hey, I can safely say that I was NOT the one who started the hug. Besides, what else could you expect? Anyway, after that strange initial greeting (I don’t even think we said “Hi,” did we? If we did I was in too much of a daze to know) we stood there a minute, before going on a tour of the house. Michael was rather chagrined that the visitor had seen his bedroom, which just happened to be kind of dirty. And then there was the room with all the…pictures, also known as books. The tour done, we, Hannah, Joy, and I, went on a walk down our dirty dirt road, and then off a sidetrail for snowmobiles (at least, I think it’s for snowmobiles). Then we went to The Horse Lady’s (her name is Debbie-whoselastnameidon’tknow) pastures, in the hopes of seeing the horses that weren’t there. But we sat on the fence/gate. Which was cool. And took some photos. Which turned out pretty cool too. And I fell in the horse doo. But I landed on my feet so you can stop laughing now. And then we went to the house and did stuff…like jump on the trampoline and give indian chief names like Crooked Toes and climb trees and look at amazing drawings and blow out candles with our noses and eat dinner and jump some more on the trampoline–us kids used to call it a jumperline, for the simple reason that we knew of no other name. And then. And then. All too soon it was 8:00. And then even sooner it was 8:30. About that time I was given the best piggyback in my life, which I wouldn’t mind doing again sometime actually… Then after a little more stalling, we two medium huggy people hugged, and our awesome company left.

Hi…sorry I’ve been gone so long… May 13, 2011

Tonight I lost myself playing Foozeball. It was disturbing to say the least. I started playing figuring I’d see how fast I could get all my points in without the other players moving at all…it took awhile, but I never got all mine in…it did. I lost to a bunch of stationary objects…on a score of ten to nine, the nine being myself. The last moments were very tense. I’ll be practicing I guess.

To change the subject to a more me-friendly topic; You’re probably wondering why there’s been no photo posts! Well here’s the truth, clear and simple, I left my camera in Alabama when we went there this winter, and it is still unfound at the house I left it at. Actually, this is not a me-friendly topic, I rather dislike it, so I’ll start again.

This winter we tapped our maple trees and made our own maple syrup. Plus the boys shoveled–a lot. I never have to shovel, hardly ever at least. And then when the snow melted Michael stuck lawn-mowing service fliers in everybody’s mail-boxes and now he’s filthy rich…and brown too, you’d never find someone so brown this early in the year. Now that the rains have pretty much stopped, we’ve been doing a lot of yard work, raking, cleaning out the raspberry patch, cutting down trees, planting flowers, ect. Oh, and we got some cute chicks who aren’t so cute anymore…not to mention dumb…and I’m planning to build a secret fort in a tree all by myself. Actually it’s not really BUILDING, it’s more like hanging a rope ladder on a tree and sticking a hammock up there…Uummm, and I like to draw on rocks with markers…anyway I think that’s all the new news for now. I think. I probably forgot some stuff. I’ll add it later, maybe. –Katie (I can’t believe I refrained from adding those faces I was dying to add in there! like this XP and this #_# and this too :O. But I persevered–sorta.)

Who doesn’t love Apples’? March 14, 2011

We (or rather, me) made up a game where you are what your (green–>) card says . . .

Judah-delicate, disturbing, awkward and graceful

Jacob-talented and handsome

Me-misunderstood and deadly

Mike-unusual, desperate, glamorous and twisted

Mom-irresistible, heartless and cute

Dad-lucky, irritating and selfish

Game: Apples to Apples.

I leave you to your own opinions about those. Although to tell the truth I think I should have got Moms’ cards (though I can be pretty deadly when I’m misunderstood, it’s true) ;) -Me.

our little girly :)

I decided that I love kittens :D And I don’t want to give ANY of them away, they are MINE. My kittens. And they like ME best. Me. But, since we do have to give some away, I think I want Peter, He’s a sweetie. Enjoy MY kitten pictures ;) -Katie

Peter (top) was taking a nap and Benny came over to join him

The Three Musketeers :P

I know you can barely see him at all . . . but if you enlarge it and look REALLY close you can see his gorgeous little eyes shining at you.

Tales of an unfortunate sister January 25, 2011

I was thinking the other day about- well, once there was this girl I knew who had so many brothers she didn’t know what to do (she used to live in a shoe, but they moved). We were great friends. Once she said to me that her brothers tormented her, and if any of the stuff she told me is credible (of that fact I do not doubt) some of the stuff she told me her brothers said was just scandalous. Like the time they told her that the reason David Gray sang like a sheep was because he had once had his tonsils out and then had sheep tonsils put in where his used to be because without tonsils a person sings really bad (according to the brother). Of course this wouldn’t have had anything to do with this girl, except for one thing; she didn’t have any tonsils. And the other time when her big brother told her that her eyes were the color of bird poop and dirt (which was true). And the OTHER time when they wouldn’t stop talking like The Annoying Orange AND called her a banana. And then when she expressed a wish to be called Teika for fun, her brothers (and friend) started calling her Tinkle (or was it twinkle?). And then once one of the aforesaid brothers told her she looked fat when she had just gotten over being real sick (thus, real skinny). And then the same brother teased her about knowing his math facts while she did not. And then another said long hair was a sign of being a caveman. . . . But all these were just slight grievances, nothing of major importance. Well, maybe the math facts. . . . Anyway! That’s what I was thinking of the other day, very interesting, do you not think so? -Katie .•)

P.S. I’m writing a book.

New years January 6, 2011

Hello and sorry for not writing sooner, I guess it’s really too late to name this New Years, oh well. We’ve been VERY busy.

Anyway, the new years party was a blast. Regretfully I did not take any pictures. My camera does awful at party’s and stuff like that :(   And since I’m short on time I’ll just give a summary: We had a snowball fight, gorged ourselves on junk food, played Apples to Apples, played Manhunt, got sprayed with silly string (that string was SO silly!), messed up someones counter-thingy  (at least, I did [still sorry]), cleaned up after silly string (at least the boys did, they were the ones with it anyway. Well, except for Hannah, she had some too), said our sort of rushed good-byes, and the guests left. That is definitely summarized. Just spread that out over several hours and add some in-beetween-stuff and there you go :P

Weeeell, today I had a hard time with my school :( Especially math. And then at lunch time I got completely sidetracked taking pictures of . . . my math :) And my cookies. And my weird little picture that I drew . . . on my math. And the wall (no, I didn’t draw a pic on the wall). And the hall . . . you get the “picture” :P Then I made bread and muffins (which are in the oven right now actually).

my little weird pic . . . look closer

my cookie (don't laugh :P)

i'm so patriotic! (bottom right had corner)

stretch Judah! stretch! :P

Well, I guess that enough pics to overwhelm anyone so i suppose I’ll stop (i could go on thought)

P.s. my muffins burned :P

pp.s. and its very possible that the math problem is wrong :P

first christmas! :) December 12, 2010

Well, this year is our first year celebrating Christmas, and let me tell you, IT IS FUN :D I’m obsessed with presents, Judah and I wrapped one for Mom and I don’t even want her to open it the wrapping is so nice :P  Michael and John cut down a tree from our backyard (kind of scrawny). There are tons of presents under it. Even though this is our First, I’ve decided that buying stuff for everyone else is AWESOME!  I just wish Christmas was ALL year :) And Judah has already started saying stuff people who’ve been doing this forever say: “Mom, can we celebrate Christmas a week early?”  The “present” situation also affords me lots of picture-taking possibilities :)

present time! present time! open the present and see what's inside! :)

Judah made the 1 in the middle, say's it's himself

ok, yes, it's a bad pic'. but thats cuz' I was rushed. Oh,and He only did it because I dared him . . . for a dollar

Merry Christmas! -Katie :)

Ps. I forgot to mention that I am now (according to me at least) a certified song writer, just finished my first song :)
